چکیده
We correct the errors in two tables. Table 3, rows 2 and 3 should have the consensus coefficient of 0.32 and 0.58 instead of the 0.30 and 0.51. Table 4 should have a consensus coefficient of 0.69 instead of 0.57. The entropy coefficients in Table 1, rows C and D, are 2.32 and 2.23 instead of 1.86 and 1.73. The authors regret any confusion readers might have had with the incorrect numbers.

Consensus and dissention: A measure of ordinal dispersion
A new measure of dispersion is introduced as a representation of consensus (agreement) and dissention (disagreement). Building on the generally accepted Shannon entropy, this measure utilizes a probability distribution and the distance between categories to produce a value spanning the unit interval. The measure is applied to the Likert scale (or any ordinal scale) to determine degrees of conse...
متن کاملAn approach to ordinal decision making
We describe the problem of decision making under ignorance and discuss the need of introducing a decision attitude or disposition in solving this problem. We show the OWA operators provide a general framework for evaluating the alternatives when the payoffs are numeric values. We then turn to the problem of decision making when the payoffs are linguistic values drawn from an ordinal scale. A so...
متن کاملMeasuring consensus in group decisions by means of qualitative reasoning
This paper presents a mathematical framework to assess the consensus found among different evaluators who use ordinal scales in group decisionmaking and evaluation processes. This framework is developed on the basis of the absolute order-of-magnitude qualitative model through the use of quantitative entropy. As such, we study the algebraic structure induced in the set of qualitative description...

Proposition 4 and Theorem 1 of the article “Belief Functions Contextual Discounting and Canonical Decompositions” [International Journal of Approximate Reasoning 53 (2012) 146–158] provide an erroneous result. We give here the true result with a correct proof.

hereby correct an error in Ref. [2], in which we studied the influence of various parameters that affect the generalization performance of fuzzy models constructed using the mixed fuzzy rule formation method [1]. On page 196, the last equation that computes the normalized loss in volume V
